At Lisnavagh we are privileged to have one of the best clay pigeon shooting instructors in Ireland, a field sport expert and a falconer on our doorstep!

We would like to invite groups to spend the day at Lisnavagh House and Grounds for an exclusive day of shooting lessons to discover more about hunting and game birds, to enjoy a delicious game feast and watch a falconry display as well as an opportunity to handle the falcons.

The day will involve a one hour lesson in clay pigeon shooting, followed by drinks and lunch at Lisnavagh House. After lunch our field sport expert will talk you through the following:-

History – methods and weapons – from spears to modern firearms via falcons
Man – role as predator and role as fauna manager
Development of fauna from early ages
Game fowl and harvesting for food
Ethical aspects and changes in attitudes
The future (if any) for hunting

Before you go, you will be able to experience a falconry display on the front lawn of Lisnavagh House. This display is more “a falconry experience” than a display. It begins with the history of Falconry. After a flying display the Falconer will allow any members of the group to handle the birds, which includes a short flight and then returning to the handler.
